We took a "personal day" on Tuesday, and went up to the Snowbowl in Flagstaff. Eric brought the video camera and got a little footage of our day. The link to a couple videos is below. It was a PERFECT skiing day. There was over a foot of new snow from Sunday and Monday. The storm had passed, so it was sunny and calm all day. NO lift lines!! The boys and I were the last people down the mountain at the end of the day. It was awesome having the whole run to ourselves! I kept telling them to "listen to the quiet" :)

I was hoping you would get some snow this year.
Take advantage, because some years pass by without any.
We have been! We've been to the Snowbowl four times, and definitely plan on going some more. They got another 19" on Sunday. I think it's been a pretty wet winter here in the desert.

So how does it feel to go skiing on a real live mountain and return home to sleep in your own bed that same night ?
Chicago definitely has its good parts, but skiing like you've been doing would require plane tickets, luggage, hotel rooms etc. etc. from there.
I see in the video that your son is snowboarding. What about you ? Tried it yet ?
I'm still on two sticks. Maybe sometime I will take a snowboarding lesson.
Quite nice to get good skiing in, and go back home to the nice weather in the same day!
