hand crafted jewelry

I have been collecting heart shaped rocks for awhile now, and decided they would be cool in some jewelry. I can't remember where the heart came from, but I found the dangling rock in Kodiak, AK, when Cathy was living there.

Hey Sarah,

Love all the posts and the pics !

Your pool is coming along nicely.

How deep is it ?

I notice that you have a grey blocked fence around your house.

We had one like that too, and the cool thing that we did with it was we painted it that Sedona Red/Orange color that everyone loves.

What we did was on one of our hikes around Sedona we picked up a few red/orange Sedona rocks and then brought them to Home Depot.

Amazingly, in the paint department at Home Depot they have a machine that can pretty much produce paint in any color that you give it.

We just handed the person there our rocks and a few minutes later we had our Sedona colored paint !

We then rented one of those electric paint spray thing-a-ma-jiggers and painted our grey blocked fence ourselves.

We had about 1/3 acre so it was lots of fence to paint. We put a layer of primer on too. It took a day or two to complete.

Just something to keep in mind if you find a cool colored rock on one of your rock hunting trips.

I think that heart shaped jewlery that you made is really nice. I bet you sell things like that easily.

My 6 year old daughter loves hearts. She is always drawing them.

The cement block fence is painted and stuccoed around most of the front. Ther is another one around the immediate pool area that is painted white. I'm thinkihng about a funky desert plum or maybe turquoise for around the pool. I have also thought about painting the other one the color of the dirt, since the bottom half is that color anyway, but it is A LOT of fence. White and natural gray will have to do for now.
It's cool how the paint store can match things now. I have found though, that the color is matched when the paint is wet in the can, so it dries slightly different than the original color. Not a big deal if your painting a whole space, but if your trying to match some existing paint, it doesn't work.
The pool goes from 31/2 fett to six, so not too deep, but deep enough for cannon balls and diving for things:)
Glad you like the jewelry-THANKS
